in japanese legend there are rabbits that live on the moon, and a lot of video games have used that legend (touhou, warioware, parodius..)

i have no idea how when or why it came into being, but my computer has a folder with a picture of rude exactly 11 times.

(the date it says at the bottom doesnt count: when my computer was reformatted, all files were taken off and put back on when it was finished, the date is when they were put back on)
